When I first arrived at school in Boston it seemed like I would be forever lost. Although I had been to Boston many times I had never spent much time in the Fenway area so this part of the city was new to me. I grew up in the suburbs in the woods so all the city bustle added to my confusion. I found though that after walking around a few times I began to find landmarks to orient myself. I knew that if I could see the Prudential building and get to it I was ok. Large or unique buildings help me stay oriented and they offer a sense of comfort in helping you know where you are. I now use architecture a lot more to help find my way around the city. I know which area of the city certain buildings are and that helps me stay on track to get where I’m going.
