Nick Strout-Blog 2

Boston is very overwhelming when one first arrives to the city. Being from Waterford, Ct, a small suburban town on the southeast coast, I never made too many trips to the city. Mostly because I am a very big supporter of nature and slow paced living. I’ve always had a keen sense of direction and a good memory for places I have visited, be it remembering a building, lake, park etc. Coming to Boston completely changes the way that one navigates. The most obvious difference is walking all the time and being able to take in more scenery. Important buildings are much more prevalent and easier to take in. It is also so much easier to find your way when you can see a huge landmark such as the Prudential from miles away. It is exponentially easier to gain a bearing when you can look for a building in the distance as opposed to being surrounded by trees.
