I came to Boston from rural New Hampshire and to say it was
a change and a shock would be an understatement. At home it takes at least
thirty minutes to get to the closest store and here everything you need is
within grasp. At first the city
overwhelmed me with its options, buildings, people, and noise. In
New Hampshire if I got turned around I’d look to the landscape to find my way
home. Here I do the same thing except architecture is now the landscape. Instead of orientating myself around the
mountains and the lake I use unique buildings and historical landmarks. Eventually
I learned if I could see the Prudential, the MassArt tower, or Fenway I was
fine and could make my way home.
