CHARLES VESPER: Blog 9 & 10
The most intriguing study was the Hindu Temple and the Buddhist Stupa because of their similarities and differences that occurred within these cultures in a similar time. The idea that both ritual centers were a destination for introspective reflection of the individual is extremely interesting. The stupa has a strong concept of circulation pattern that is enhanced by the circular or Parikrama motion while the individual enters the Hindu temple madapa to greet the diety. The intensions of a church are a collaborative but the intensions of the individual remain the main focus of each person. This idea is more honest to what a person experiences in worship in a church even though they are in a group setting. Its a question of whether a person experiences a stronger connection within oneself within a space like a Stupa or Hindu Temple.
