Ancient Greece has always interested me, one of my friends from home is Greek and travels there all the time. I love looking at her pictures of the ruins she goes too. So obviously I was excited when we started talking about ancient Greece in class. The place that stood out to me the most was Delphi, because of the story about Apollo and the mother goddess. Also that fact that it is marked with an omphalus to mark the center of the world, it seems like there was so much going on in each culture but none of them seemed to care to venture to far away from what they knew. I can see why the Greeks would think that this is the center of the world though because of the fact that the mother goddess turned into an oracle and the oracles would know stories of what was to come.
