Michelle Lopez Blog Response 9&10

The lecture that interested me the most was the very first Origins lecture. It really interests me how people from back then were some how able to create these large monolithic spaces out of large rocks. I also find it so interesting how spaces like Nabta Playa and Niuheliang were able to be oriented towards the cardinal points. I really enjoyed learning about how much the cosmos influenced their architecture and way of living. For example, how Stonehenge was potentially used for a ritual on the summer solstice. When hearing all these facts in lecture it started to raise questions of how this was produced. How were these large stones moved? How did they know if they were orientating to the right point? Did they have any help in building?
