The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a building that compelled me. It was built under corrupt circumstances, for Nicolas Fouquet. The entire estate, which is extremely massive, was built for one specific party, for the king. The building is also extremely fascinating because of the fact that the King was so taken back by the beauty and granger of the estate that he became suspicious of Fouquet, and had him executed. The king then went on to higher the architect, landscaper and, interior designer to design the now world famous palace at Versailles. The fact that this magnificent building and complex had such a large impact on some of the worlds most amazing architecture is perhaps the most intriguing reason why I connected with The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte.
