Lauren Chirco Blog 9+10

Italy has some of the absolute most gorgeous, historical architecture that can be found throughout the world. I was most interested in the architecture and history found in Italy. I am most inspired by that amount of detail and thought that was put into all architectural projects of Italy. The Sistine Chapel in stunning with Michelangelo's paintings that represented the heavens above. To learn about an artist that was very dedicated and determined to achieve such greatness is absolutely amazing. The thought that anyone could paint such gorgeous scenes, proves that architecture is precious and meaningful. Venice, was my favorite place that we learned about this semester. I absolutely loved learning about the history of Venice and the fact that Venice can create such beautiful structures and architecture, even when the city floods. I would never think that older buildings would be able to be sustainable with water damage, but to know that an ancient city can figure out a way to make architecture works, makes me believe that any architecture can be made and work to stand within a country. All of Italy's architecture is intriguing in its own way and the ideas and hard work behind each project is the reason why we as students learn about them.
