I am very interested in Asian architecture, but Japanese in particular. Japan is a quickly evolving country when it comes to technology, but they still hold on to their traditions that go back to the birth of Japan. I never knew that the Ise Shrine was rebuilt every 20 years and that it was rebuilt the same way it was built the first time. I really enjoyed hearing that the Japanese people continued to use the “old” way of building instead of using technology. I personally feel that with technology there is a craftsmanship that is lost when it come to physically building a building. This is one thing that I really appreciate about the Japanese culture, they may be very advance in technology, but they still honor and respect the traditions of old.
