Alex Griffin, Blog Response 4

What does the courtyard at the Boston Public Library and a traditional Roman bath have in common architecturally? Just about everything. Walking up and throughout the labyrinth like spaces of the Library, a tight hallway leads you in towards the middle of this symmetrical plan where the courtyard opens up to the sky, a fountain placed in the center can be viewed from the surrounding arcade. The relation of precession, connection of the people and connection to the sky are both present.
