Robert Hale Blog 3

Going to the MFA I usually like to stick to the sections of paintings and sculptures of more modern times. But going into the depths of the Egyptian exhibit unfolded a world of unexplored artifacts. I found the wall of giant stone bricks covered in hieroglyphs to be a throwback to the ancient times and architecture. Many of the monuments we studied of Egypt were covered in scripture just like these. Whether it was the walls of a tomb, a column or stone tablet that travelled between ritual centers. Many other artifacts in the exhibit show ties back to the architecture of the ancient Egyptians, though personally this one seemed most prominent to what was discussed in class.
