When I went to the Boston Bruins game last weekend I decided to take a photo of the rink. Looking back on it I realized an abundant amount of similarities to the Circus Maximus in Rome. First off the shape of the rink compared to that of the Circus Maximus is practically identical. Another similarity is the sense of gathering of the public to watch an event. Spectating has been around for thousands of years and it still continues today. People all gather around the TD Garden, much like they did in ancient Rome. The actual event being seen is of course much different today, but the ideas behind both are the same.
