Michelle Lopez Blog Response 4

When walking around Boston I didn’t see many buildings that showed translation to what we have discussed in lecture, until I found the Custom House. The Custom House has various strong connections to the typical Greek temple. For example, when looking at it, one cannot help but notice the series of Doric columns that surrounds all four sides of the building. Also the style of the pediment and freeze are very similar, if not identical to one from a Greek temple. Although both the Custom House and a traditional Greek Temple look very similar, they may have different meanings.
