Angela Liccardo Blog Response 3

Through the Egyptian section, I saw many models of boats whether it be for burial purposes, fishing, or traveling. Boats have a huge correlation with the festivals that took place in Egypt at the time. One being the Opet festival that consisted of sending the statues of the gods of the Theban Triad from Temple of Amun to Luxor Temple. This took place during the flooding of the Nile. These two temples were constructed so the boats would be able to enter right into the temple. Seeing the so many different boats represented in the museum reinforced the idea that the Early Egyptian society main focus was on the Nile River.
