Many modern buildings have direct correlations and inspiration from ancient buildings of nearly every culture. One relation here in Boston is the Boston State House, which represents St. Peter's Basilica. In particular the dome represents that of the dome on St. Peter's Basilica. Both domes have similar rounding with a large cupola at the top. Also, another component that is similar, are the columns on the State House, which have a significant resemblance to St. Peter's.
