The Fountainhead inspires my overall design aesthetic. The novel has to do with Howard Roark against the world. A character who refuses to compromise his design aesthetic for the world. Any architect who reads this book aspires to be the modern day Howard Roark because he has a clear understanding of what the power of architecture means to him. So how does The Fountainhead inspire me? It reminds me everyday to never lose my grasp on what architecture means to me. There is always room for improvement from professors but my ideas should not be compromised just to get an A.
