Since architecture has been an interest of mine since a young age, my inspirations for design came from younger influences. Star Wars, specifically “Return of the Jedi”, was the birth of an open and vast imagination of possibility and environment. This book depicted boundless worlds and structures that reflected space, time, and culture. Whether it is an android factory embedded within a volcanic city or a floating community within the clouds, Star Wars illustrated a futuristic world. With Star Wars as an inspiration, my style and habits aim to reflect ideas of endless possibility. I approach things with an open mind and try to break the boundaries of what’s “normal” or expected”. A structure or building should express what you feel and through Star Wars, I have learned to never reject your feelings and to follow your inspiration with whatever approach you find fitting. We are reaching a point in architecture where structure and tectonics can support whatever we need it to, making these futuristic visions become very realistic. With a mindset similar to that used to create the worlds in Star Wars, an exciting future could find its way onto my drafting board.
