On an stormy night in Lisboa portugal there was a massive rumble as though the world was coming to the end. The next morning when the sun came up their was a giant sword the crashed and was dig into the ground on the edge of the riverway. Their are some accounts that were told that it fell from the sky and others said that lightening stuck and when the smoke was gone all there was, was the sword in the stone. There were many attempts to pull this giant sword out of the ground there no one was ever strong enough. The legend has in that the day the sword leaves the Monument of Henry the Navigator the people of the world will will live in darkness forever. That is why the sword has never been taken out of the ground.
