While visiting family in Ohio I couldn't help but notice the structure of the arched windows in their home. Then I began to think how light was being affected by the structure of the arch. Light is nearly completely let in through the window aside from the major structure components that lie in the window. Another method that is used to affect the light by diffusing it are the blinds being used, but that does not affect the direct light as much as the structure of the arch does. The "T" shaped bracing helps to give a slight break in the light to give an enhanced shadow in the space. It is a nice gesture to have this style of window to maximize the amount of light let in making for a more welcoming and efficient space.
How does light relate to structure? You are describing a window.
