Nathan Neff Blog 8

The Harvard Medical School New Research Building, everything is all floating or standing alone, bridges, glass and pieces cantilevering, all seem to be able to do this on there own. Get a closer look at the building and you can see structure that is invisible to most of the views.
The glass wanted to stand on her own so that she can show the world what she could hide and reveal. The curtain wall wanted to be a jewel of the neighborhood, going back to the idea of "Art without science is nothing." Knowing what was going on inside her walls, the curtain wall wanted to bring the beauty of architecture to the building. She wanted to be an interesting piece of architecture, that would attract everyone inside. So she attempted to stand on her own, but to sit there all day and night was getting a little too stressful. One day she started to fall and called out for help. So the special cable design said "don't worry I will hold you up" and he grabbed on to her and kept her up all night and day. Then everything was so much easier and smoother than before. They both learned that one cannot survive without the other. So, together they caught everyone's eye and even the sky.
