My Dad bought me “101 Things I learned in Architecture School” over the summer before I started going to school here. It was the only book like it that I had back then so I did actually take the time to look through everything. I kept it with me freshman year and some of sophomore year and frequently flipped through the pages to inspire myself. I liked the book because it kept things very concrete, cutting out a lot of the convoluted filler I kept hearing from my professors that made it harder to understand. That straightforward approach has affected my design process for better or worse. I try stick with more concrete ideas that can be expressed and understood easily and iterate on them a lot instead of trying many different abstract ideas.
