Blog 6: Robert Hale

Shelter by Lloyd Kahn was written in the early 70's, considered to have inspired the "green building revolution"
As long as I can remember I've been concerned with preserving the environment and resources the earth offers. Designing buildings and homes that combat these issues has been a fascination of mine as long as I thought of a future career. I knew i wanted to do something that accomplished that and building and the environment are my two passions, this book helped me realize where i wanted to take my focus. Kahn highlights ways to build alternatively which really encouraged me to go to school and design buildings that respond to the future needs of the plant, using examples and lessons of the past as starting points to designs.
