Today, while walking to my class in Wentworth Hall, I noticed the interestingly beautiful light moments that are expressed within the building. Walking through the hall I realized that the roof is constructed of glass, with structured elements to support the glass materials but also to hold the structure of the roof. The glass structure roof allows for light to pass through the hall where students are passing through at all times of the day. The natural light that passes through illuminates the space and creates shadows that cast down by the structured elements. The other great feature within Wentworth Hall, are the beautifully designed circle windows that look out into the Quad space and are positioned next to stairs to provide light. This circular window allows for great views of the Wentworth campus but pores large amounts of light to pass through the space. The circle glass is structurally supported by the window pane and creates not just a view outside, but for light to illuminate the stairs for circulation, within the building of Wentworth Hall.
