Dan Zarkadas - Blog 5

The Stata Center at MIT uses light enunciate certain spaces within the building to make them seem bigger or more important in comparison to less lit areas. In this case the light creates a bubble of space that seems to stand out from the area behind it despite it all being part of one long space. The structure helps to start differentiating the space but the light works with it to bring the whole thing together. I'm not sure what the event going on was but you can see how people gravitate towards the lighted space as well.
