In my personal opinion, there is one building in Boston that stands above all others when it comes to its interaction to light. The John Hancock Tower by I.M. Pei is cleverly designed to blend in with the sky with its reflective glass. As a result, Boston’s highest building seems to take a ghostly appearance. When light reflects off of it, it mirrors itself and creates a stunning cool blue light. On days like this one in particular, the tower began to mimic the light of an approaching thunderstorm. It is the only building in Boston to successfully reproduce the light that is projected onto it. The John Hancock is extremely successful in its intended relationship to light.
