Michelle Lopez Blog Response 5

When walking to Utrecht, I saw a building on Northeastern’s campus that really caught my eye. The Godfrey Lowell Physical Education Center is a building on Huntington Avenue. The bottom half of the building is made of stone, not allowing much light in. But then suddenly the top half is open, allowing light to come in and shine onto the many steel trusses that hold up the roof. Light is able to come in and filter through the many trusses allowing for a unique light as well as shadow pattern.

  1. There are a number of different types of trusses which provide different types of support for the roofs of houses.
