The administration building at 177 Huntington ave in the Christian Science Center is a building which uses many horizontal and vertical louvers to control light. The vertical louvers block low evening light from directly entering through the windows, and the horizontal louvers block noon light in the summer. The warm color of the louvers and the warm color of the evening light cause the reflected light from the louvers to be exceptionally warm. The inhabitants, while neglected direct light, get diffused, even, reflected light that illuminates the space without adding too much direct heat in the summer.
